Westbound I-20 Lane Closure for Bridge Work Begins Monday

By: SweetwaterReporter.com
Updated: November 12, 2012
Both main lanes of westbound Interstate 20 at the US 84 overpass in Nolan County are scheduled for a temporary closure for preliminary work to replace the bridge that was damaged after a collision in late September.

Westbound Interstate 20 will be closed the week of Monday, Nov. 12.

Traffic will be detoured to US 84 Business and routed around the overpass before being directed back to westbound I-20.

The three-quarter mile detour is the same route that was used immediately following the collision.

Signs, cones and message boards will be in place to direct drivers.

The inside lane of Interstate 20 will reopen after about a week. The outside lane will remain closed until further notice.
