Concerned Citizen Taken to Hospital after Checking on House Fire

A man was taken to a hospital after checking on a north Abilene home when he smelled smoke.

A stove fire on the 1300 block of Shelton street started Monday afternoon when a man working next door to the house went inside to make sure everyone was okay.

Officials say there was no actual fire, only smoke.

The man was transported to Hendrick Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
