To say its been a tough few months for business may be an understatement if you ask Damon Albus.

"You don't realize what kind of friends you have until you go through something like this," said Albus.

"It happened so quick and getting everything up and going is a blessing," said Donna Duran-Albus, Albus' wife.

He's been slowly trying to make for the time lost after losing his business to a fire.

It's still hard for him to remember that day when he saw his livelihood go up in flames.

"You know I raised three kids there, lots of good memories," said the Abilene native.

Now, just two months later he's already preparing to reopen his shop.

He even still has the orders from the day of the fire- a little charred- but ready to go.

"We're concentrated on trying to get the business up and going so that I can continue to pay the hired hands and you know pay some bills," said the business owner of 15 years.

His family is all in- cleaning up and preparing the new shop hes opening on Oak St.

He's got the equipment he was able to salvage from the fire as well as new machines hes been able to purchase from wherever he can find it.

It's now time to move on and get back to business.

"We're gonna be bigger and better, were going to be stronger than ever so lets just start with a new place, a new attitude," said Dalbus.

You might say Dalbus is putting on a new hat- as he prepares for his busiest season.
