This is the 6th year in a row the Cougars have been to the post season, but this year is just the 2nd time in that stretch that Cooper has had 2 or fewer losses in the regular season.

Head coach Todd Moebes' team is coming off their open date to close the regular season, and the coach likes the way his team handled the week with out a game.

Coach Moebes said, "They need some mental recharge and to be refreshed, although, when we are out there on the field, we need to get some work done. It was a priority of our coaching staff that, we made sure when we were out there, they didn't get to loose. We spent a lot of time really working against each other to make sure we were maintaining our timing and speed of the game. That kind of stuff is important to me. Working good on good and having specific segments and trying to accomplish certain things was a priority of mine going into, and I feel like we did that."

Cooper opens the 2012 postseason on Saturday as the 2nd part of a double-header with the Eagles. The Cougars take on El Paso Americas at 6 at Ratliff Stadium.
