There is a new commissioner at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Senior district Judge John Specia has agreed to take the job.

Former Commissioner John Baldwin resigned abruptly last week.

Abilene police are investigating the way the employees conducted the case of Tiffany Klapheke.

One of her children died from neglect.

Her two other daughters also had symptoms of severe neglect.
