Donate Blood and Give the Gift of Life for the Holidays

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: November 14, 2012
While many will use the holidays to enjoy time away from work and with family, the holiday time is when the Meek Blood Center needs more donations.

Right now, the center is low on A+ and O+ blood.

It's trying to prepare for the lack of blood drives while it's closed for the holidays.

"The holiday weekend is always concerning because we go for several days without a blood drive, but yet the hospitals still have to be supplied," explains donation recruiter Frances Baker. "The need for blood never stops."

You can donate blood next Monday through Wednesday during the center's regular business hours.
