Wednesday was national signing day for sports other than football, and Cooper golfer Cory Churchman signed on the dotted line.

Churchman signed to go to Denton and play for North Texas.

He went to state as a freshman and is a 2 time district champion for the Cougars. Churchman says he is excited to join the Mean Green next year.

Churchman said, "The 1st thing I looked for in a college was a place I could get a lot better in my game. You know, improve my game and ultimately get to the level that I need to be to turn pro because that's my ultimate goal. 1 thing I really liked about Coach Rocky, he was the 1st coach to say, 'I want you here. I want you to play for me' "

Churchman is ranked 3rd in the Class of 2013 at Cooper.
