Cooper plays in the 2nd game of a doubleheader in Odessa on Saturday.

Fred Lawrence is on of the leaders for the Cougars on the field this year. He's returned 2 kickoffs and a punt for touchdowns on special teams, and he's picked off 4 passes.

That said, he loves leading the team off the field, too.

Lawrence said, "I think leadership off the field(is most important). Making sure everybody has their grades good and making sure everything is in order, and making sure everybody's character is good. I just stay on our boys and make that everything is good, so we can be able to play on the field, and I can be a leader on the field."

Coach Moebes said, "I think our guys got the utmost respect for him. He's a great focal leader, and he, also, leads by example. He leads by example by his work ethic every day in practice."

Cooper opens the 2012 playoffs in Odessa against El Paso Americas Saturday at 6pm.
