It was a long night for all parties involved in the Novice land petition.

The Jim Ned board immediately went into a closed session where they discussed approval and disapproval of the resolutions.

The closed session lasted two hours, creating an atmosphere full of nerves in the Jim Ned Library.

When the board returned, they read and discussed findings including education interest, social, economic and educational effects on the boundary change.

Board members voted 4-2 in favor of disapproving the petition.

We spoke with people in support of and against the decision made by the Jim Ned board.

"Their decision is exactly what I've been praying for and hoping for. I think that Coleman taxes should stay in Coleman," says Herma Jean Johnson.

"It was what i expected. I'm just glad it was over. When I did this for the kids. I did not know I was causing world war 3," says Doris Duke, the woman who started the petition.

We also spoke to the Superintendent of Jim Ned who said he is happy everything is over and now the community can get back to what really matters, the kids.
