"It's about $120 every time I fill up," says J.R. Salazar
In Brownwood gas prices average $3.15. Some are satisfied with the price.
"It's a lot better than it was this summer," says Larry Smith.
While others, are asking questions.
"It kinda doesn't make sense," says Salazar. "I don't really understand the whole process but it doesn't really make sense why we're so much higher than Abilene."
With the holidays around the corner, gas becomes a vital factor in travel plans.
"Every penny counts, it's 15 cents here, 20 cents there on everything, so yeah, it all does matter, it really does," states Mary Hamill.
Just 80 miles away in Abilene, gas prices have dropped below $3, making some Brownwood residents wonder what corporations are doing.
"I think the ones that can do something about it, I think they're unfair. Yeah I do," says Hamill.
Meanwhile in Abilene, citizens are thrilled!
"You have no idea," says Emily Grand. "It's expensive putting gas in a different car everyday so it's really nice to be able to put in like 10 bucks and it actually put gas in the car instead of just getting you to and from your house."
The American Automobile Association says prices should continue to drop the rest of the year. For now, Brownwood residents are still waiting for the three to drop.
