Store Clerk Refuses to Hand Over Cash During Armed Robbery

An Abilene store clerk was able to keep a robber from taking any cash after he was held at gunpoint Friday afternoon, by simply refusing.

It happened around 2 p.m. Friday in the 3300 block of East Highway 80.

According to police, the suspect entered the store and tried to rob the cashier at gunpoint.

The robber ran away after the cashier simply refused to give him any money.

The clerk told police he recognized the robber from a previous encounter at the store.
