The Leopards would get the first point on the board, but the Lady Bulldogs would go off on a long run of their own. A spike by Megan McCaslin gave Wylie a 7-2 lead in the first set. Eventually a spike into the net by LaGrange's Breanna Homer gave the first set to the Lady Dogs.
LaGrange would come back to win the second set, and Wylie would take home the third set.
The Lady Bulldogs found themselves up and only three points away from a state title in the fourth set. A run by LaGrange would put a damper on that, and eventually send the match to a critical fifth and final set.
The Leopards would jump out to a lead in that fifth set, but the Lady Bulldogs would fight back and take control. Eventually a block by Megan McCright would win the match for Wylie, and secure the program's first state title.
