Military Hearing Begins for Airman in Connection with Klapheke Case

By: Victor Sotelo
Updated: November 19, 2012
A military court hearing for Senior Airman Christopher Perez is going on today at Dyess Air Force Base.

Perez is charged with child endangerment, child neglect and adultery.

The allegations are in connection with the charges against Tiffany Klapheke, the mother of three children who was living on base while her husband was deployed overseas.

Her 22-month-old daughter died from severe neglect, and the other two required medical treatment for malnutrition and dehydration.

An Abilene police detective testified Monday morning about the strong odors coming from the room where the girls were locked up, and the chemical burns on their skin from being in wet and soiled diapers for days when they were found.
