That means the seniors on this team have at least 1 more week to play football for the Bulldogs this year.
The 2012 version of the Bulldogs is led by 4 seniors that have been on the varsity for 3 years, and the experience those guys bring to the field helps every week they play.
"We're just used to everything that's been going on for a couple of years. So, it's really important that the younger guys have that to look up to. Also the seniors have that to look up to," said Deandre Key.
"It's so much different coming in. Especially from sophomore year to now. It was different my junior year, but the game has slowed down a bunch; especially for Riley, Deandre, and Cole. The game has slowed down for all of us. I think it's a big deal, especially with the huge games were about to go in," said Garrett Martin.
"We really call on our senior leadership, and especially in the playoffs. Those kids have been around it. They've been on playoff teams. They were on JV a couple years ago. The leadership of those guys is big, and at no more important time than in the playoffs," said head coach Hugh Sandifer."
Now it's on to the next round. The Bulldogs take on Andrews in the 2nd round of the Class 3A Division 1 playoffs on Friday night in San Angelo.
