Albany Lions Are Ready To Go After Bye

By: David Robinett
Updated: November 19, 2012
The Albany Lions were 1 of 5 Big Country schools that had open dates in the 1st round of the postseason.

The Lions rolled to the district championship this year to earn that open date, but some don't like it at the start of the playoffs.

For their part, the Lions don't mind getting the time to rest and head coach Denney Faith likes his teams history with the bye.

Coach Faith said, "Every team is different, and you really never know until you get ready to play that next game if it was a good thing or a bad thing. We've always been able to play pretty well after bye weeks, so we think that we have a good plan when we have those, and we just try to keep playing."

Samuel Raymond added, "Albany Lions football is always ramped up, but we always take an extra gear when it comes to playoffs to work extra hard and take another step."

The Lions start their postseason on Friday in Colorado City.  They face Iraan at 2 for the Area championship.
