Reminder: Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Civic Center Tuesday

The annual Community Christmas Tree lighting will be held Tuesday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Abilene Civic Center Atrium.

The community is invited to attend as Mayor Norm Archibald performs the official duty of lighting the tree.

Cooper High School's Red Rhythm and Blues will perform as well as the Abilene and Cooper High School Combined Chamber Orchestras.

After the lighting ceremony, refreshments will be served and members of Beamer's Gymnastics will hold a demonstration in the Civic Center Exhibit Hall.

The event is sponsored by the City of Abilene, Abilene Independent School District and Civic Abilene, Inc.

Also on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 27, City Sidewalks will take place. Downtown merchants, galleries and museums open their doors for City Sidewalks as the annual Christmas Lights Parade travels through downtown.
