Head coach Todd Moebes' Cooper Cougars struggled out of the box, but got things headed in the right direction in time to beat El Paso Americas on Saturday night.

The Trailblazers led by 1-point in the 3rd quarter, but Cooper came back to score the next 20 points to win the game 40 to 21.

The Cougars ended up with over 530 yards of offense, and the coach is proud that his team kept fighting even when things got tough.

Coach Moebes said, "You can't let that bother you. I mean, you have to have a clear conscience on every single play. You can be too much on a high when something good happens and not focus on the next play, or you can be too low because something bad happened and still the samething. You better go into each and every play  with a clear conscience, get ready to execute that, and you can't  worry about what happened, positively or negatively, to you a play or 2 plays before. Our guys did a great job of being poised and confident that regardless of what happened we will be able to fix it in the future."

The Cougars are playing Arlington High in the 1st game of the doubleheader with the Eagles. Arlington High won District 3-5A. Cooper and the Colts play at 2 on Friday.
