Albany Church Hosts Thanksgiving Meal for Those in Need

By: Press Release
Updated: November 21, 2012
Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house . . . we all can't go, so the Albany First Assembly of God will continue their Thanksgiving tradition.

The doors of the fellowship room at First Assembly will be open from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, serving up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for all who don't have family coming in, or those who won't be able to visit family.

There is no charge for the dinner.

"Our church family sends to you a big invite to come and be part of our family this year for this meal, as we celebrate Thanksgiving and all that God has blessed us with," pastor Chuck Sheppard said.

"Remember, we are offering this meal to all who don't have family close, can't afford to travel, can't fix up a big meal, or suddenly find themselves alone, or empty nested, or for whatever reason you are not with the whole crew this year."

Sheppard emphasized that everyone is invited.

"It may just be you, or you may be a couple of two or three or so folks, but please know that you do have a place where you will be welcome. The food will be great, and it's going to be warm inside, even if it's cold outside," Sheppard concluded.
