Dragons Look To Continue Playoff Run

Throughout their four game wining streak to end the regular season, the Bangs Dragons were barely tested. In the first round of the playoffs Breckenridge gave them everything they could handle. That meant winning a close game to get to the next round, but that's just part of playing in the postseason.

"Breckenridge played tough, we made some mistakes, and got ourselves in a bind. We needed to play in a close game. The important thing was that even though we had some problems throughout the game, really three or four key things that we should have been able to get the ball in the end zone that didn't happen. [The players] still came back and played hard and we did what we had to do to win the ball game," said head coach Chuck Lipsey.

"Just getting the feel of playing in the playoffs, and playing better teams than we ended with in the district. We had quite a few tough teams in the beginning, but we came in and tried to do what we do best," said Gabe Perez.

"There's only eight teams left in our region, and their all going to be tough from here on out. It was a good learning experience for us. Going into this game this week we're going to have to be playing good for four quarters, eliminate the mistakes, and we've got to learn from the mistakes we made Friday night against Breckenridge. We're excited about it, we're going to work them in during the week, and we're going to be ready to go on Friday," said Lipsey.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Dragons. This week it's Idalou in Sweetater, and it could very well be another one of those close games.
