You won't find any long lines or door buster sales here.

"Many people don't know about local shops and that we're here," said Wild Ones sales associate Cassie Zeinert.

That's why everyone is encouraged to shop locally this Saturday. Remind shoppers that the big name stores aren't the only ones with good deals.

"Once you come to a local shop, you're more than likely to come back," said Cassie. "Versus going to Target and stuff like that, we like those people to come here and actually have that experience."

While shopping locally this weekend will be easy on your wallet, it will help the entire city in the long run.

"It allows those dollars to remain in the community and build wealth within the community as we move forward," said Mike McMahan, president of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. "As that wealth grows, then Abilene grows, and that's good for everyone."

Sales associates at Wild Ones will tell you that helping the economy isn't the only bargain for locals.

"We have a great relationship with our customers," said Dorothy Simmons. "It's people that we know, and we dress them and they know that if they come in here that we'll take care of them."

"You don't get that anywhere else and usually they come back because they like that one-on-one experience," Cassie explained.

And getting items that are one-of-a kind.

"I like shopping at local places because if I have that piece on and I go to say to Houston, I get so many compliments on that outfit," Cassie said. "And it's just kind of rewarding, kind of special to be pointed out you know, just by shopping locally."
