"In my head I knew I was going to die at that point. I kept telling my friend, I'm going to die, I'm dying,"says Raimee Brown.

It all started on October 29th in this garage apartment in the 1000 block of Matador.

"I remember feeling something really sharp," she explains.

Twenty-year-old Raimee Brown says she was in the apartment with her friend and one of his friends.

She says she was on the computer when the person, unfamiliar to her, sat on the couch next to her and started having a conversation.

"The next thing I know, my head's in my lap, I can't feel my legs, I feel warmth all over my body and that's when he threw me backwards and was going to start going for my chest."

Brown says, despite there being no conflict or confrontation, she was stabbed three times, twice in her arm, and once in her back.

"That's the one that hit my spinal cord and that's the reason I'm paralyzed right there," she says.

Two days following the stabbing, Robert Latham was arrested.

He is now in the Taylor County Detention Center where he maintains his innocence, but the possibility of this  nightmare not being over is what frightens brown the most.

She says, "I don't know what happened. I don't know why he did that to me so I'm still a little bit scared that maybe he might try to get somebody else to do it. I just don't know."

No matter what may lie ahead of her, Brown continues to persevere and fight, to regain the strength that someone tried to take.
