The Eastland Mavericks were able to out last Muleshoe Friday night in a playoff shootout.

Eastland jumped out to a lead, but Muleshoe was able to cut into it with a running touchdown.

The Mavericks would respond though with a strong drive of their own. First it was a pass by Josh Moylan to get the Mavericks in scoring position. Then Brandon Allen punched it in for a touchdown to give Eastland a 12 point lead at the break.

The Mavericks would eventually hold on to beat Muleshoe 48-34 in Snyder.
