It was a close game early in the game, and a break for the Wolves in the second quarter may have been the difference in the game. In the closing minutes of the half, quarterback Mark Henderson was picked off by Sanford-Fritch's Andrew Reynolds. Then Reynolds lost the ball, and Wolves' wide receiver Dillon Giney fell on the loose ball.
That put the Wolves in scoring position, and a couple plays later Nathan Jackson ran in for the go-ahead touchdown. Colorado took a 14-7 lead into the break, and held on to win the game by the score of 21-19.
Next up for the Wolves will be Abernathy in the regional round.
