Gas Prices Won't Stop Locals from Traveling for the Holidays

It's changed the way many travel.

"When it's nearly four dollars a gallon, you don't hardly go anyplace," aid Stephen Norris.

Though prices aren't as high as before, it still impacts the way people plan out their holiday trips.

"It did figure into it but it was a lot less than what it's been in the past," said Tammy Stanislaw. "So it made it a lot easier for traveling."

Along with holiday meals and gifts, money spent on gas is now a major part of the holiday plan.

"You have to budget for gas now. I mean, life's a little harder now, but it's alright," said Stephen.

Many travelers tell me that seeing family is so importance, that they find a way to make it happen.

"Most of my family's out of town, so we have to go see them," explained Stephen. "But it won't be like it used to be where we take off and go out of our way to go anywhere."

"You kind of find ways to come home and that kind of thing. So yeah, I'll probably be home for Christmas. But of course you start saving and putting back money to come home," said Tammy.

But until prices drop, drivers will continue to find ways to travel while using a little gas as possible.
