Celebrating Christmas is something near to every Texan's heart. There are opportunities across Texas to visit a state park and enjoy time with family in the outdoors and celebrate being together.

Join the staff at Lake Brownwood State Park for their first annual holiday at the lake on Saturday, December 15.

Visitors can bring camping gear and decorations for a competition for the best decorated campsite. The winner will have their camping fees waived for the evening.

For visitors and overnight guests, at 7 p.m. there will be a campfire talk with a park ranger and Santa will make an appearance. Kids can have their photos taken on Santa's lap and then decorate sugar cookies provided by the Friends of Lake Brownwood. Hot chocolate will also be provided.

Call the park office for applicable fees and reservations. (325) 784-5223.
