Cooper High School Graduate Murdered In Dallas; Family, Friends In Disbelief

A tragic shooting more than 200 miles away has hit close to home.
A little too close for Abilene residents like Rey Sandoval.
"It was a shock to me and I just pray that we do find out something of what happened because I have no clue," he said.
He considered Manases Perez family.
"I really loved him, he was like my brother," said Sandoval.
The 26 year-old was fatally shot with two others at a Motel 6 in north Dallas.
As police continue to investigate family and friends continue to cope.
"I know its true, you know, but its just like, not him, not Manases," said the close friend.
Perez was a cooper high school graduate, he loved producing music.
In fact that's how he and Sandoval met and became close friends.
"At first it was like a little rival thing because he made music and so did I but then we ended up coming together and then from then on you couldn't pull us apart," he said.
He still remembers their final conversation.
"He called me and he told me that he wanted to give his life to Christ and so I lead him to the lord and then I prayed for him and it was an emotional time for both of us," said Sandoval.
A few months later he's struggling to understand why his friend was murdered.
"He didn't deserve it no matter what we go though in life no one deserves that," he said.
So as he listens to the song- he remembers the good times they shared and the music that will forever bring them together.
Dallas police continue their investigation.
They currently have no suspects and have yet to release specific details about what took place that night.
Perez graduated from cooper high school in 2004.
He was currently working for an engineering firm in Dallas.
His family expressed their gratitude to everyone who has kept them in their prayers.
Viewing services will be held for Perez at the Gethsemane Spanish Assembly of God Church in Abilene on Nov. 27 and 28 from 6p.m. - 8 p.m.
A burial service will be held on Nov. 29 at 10 a.m.
