Reminder: Westbound I-20 Lanes to Close Again for Bridge Demolition

By: TxDOT Press Release
Updated: November 28, 2012
Both main lanes of westbound I-20 at the US 84 overpass in Nolan County are scheduled for another temporary closure starting November 28 to allow crews to demolish and remove a bridge that was damaged after a collision in late September.

The closure is expected to remain in effect for about a week.

Traffic will be detoured to US 84 Business and routed around the overpass before being directed back to westbound I-20.

The 3/4-mile detour is the same route that was used immediately following the collision. Signs, cones and message boards will be in place to direct drivers.

Both westbound lanes of I-20 will reopen after this phase of the work is complete, but future closures will be necessary as work progresses to replace the bridge.
