Pat Gutierrez is turning his art into toys under the Christmas tree.

"Being blessed with the artistic ability that we have and being able to give back with that, you know, that's just an awesome feeling for us," the tattoo artist explained.

He's started a local toy drive, getting a wish list from CPS of all the toys the children want. Asking people to bring in toys from that list in exchange for free ink.

"We know that CPS has a lot of kids that don't have and won't have for Christmas," he said. "So we figured that were the kids that really need it to feel loved. To feel that there is a Christmas and there is people out there that care for them."

But Pat said it shouldn't be about getting a free tattoo, it should be about giving back.

"It's not for the tattoo, it's to give back to the community as much as we can. Like I said, there's a lot of kids out there  that are in cps custody that don't have, or are in foster care, won't get Christmas unless we help out and give back," said Pat.

Proving that even the unlikely organizations and shops in Abilene want to help out as much as they can.

"It's not just the holiday season," he said. "We're supposed to be helping out any time of the year. I mean everybody should come together and help each other out. That's what being part of a community is."

Parlor 10-18 will be accepting new, unwrapped presents from that list at the shop on North 1st. Toys must equal at least $20 And tattoos bigger than the size eligible for the free tattoo will be half price.

The toy drive starts November 28th and runs until December 20th.
