DPS Arrests Man on Manslaughter Charges after Wreck

The Department of Public Safety has arrested a Wichita Falls man in connection with a deadly traffic accident from last Friday. 

The investigating state trooper arrested 36-year-old Gustavo Cervantes on charges of intoxicated manslaughter for his involvement in the accident that ocurred early last Friday morning just west of Sweetwater in Nolan County.

The DPS reported that Cervantes was driving the wrong way on Interstate 20 last Friday morning when the car he was in slammed head-on into another car.

Ambulance attendants rushed Cervantes to Hendrick Medical Center with the injuries he suffered.

He was then charged in connection with the accident.

41-year-old Cory Lynn Carlile of Rowlett was killed in the accident.
