TxDOT Plans Repairs for US 83 in Abilene

By: TxDOT Press Release
Updated: November 29, 2012
The Texas Department of Transportation will begin a two-phase project to repair the pavement base and seal coat on US 83 the week of December 3.

The first phase will involve base failure repairs in various locations on the northbound and southbound lanes between Antilley Road and Iberis Road.

The work will require daytime lane closures and occasional ramp closures. These repairs are expected to be completed by late December, and barricades will be removed at that time.

The second phase of the project will include seal coating and pavement markings on the main lanes and frontage roads of US 83, but this work will not begin until mid-May when weather conditions are favorable for the operation.

The work will involve lane and ramp closures similar to the first phase of the project, and it should be complete within about a month.
