By: ACU Press Release
Updated: November 29, 2012
This Saturday, December 1, ACU's Department of Interior Design will present its 2nd annual Gingerbread House Construction Competition.

Join the department for a fun-filled morning of Christmas themed creativity that supports a good cause.

The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the lobby of the Williams Performing Arts Center. For $15, a team of 3-5 individuals can build their own gingerbread house. The event is open to the public.

Senior interior design majors Nicole Dorsey and Morgan Hudson are co-directing the competition. "I am really looking forward to seeing all of the creativity from our participants," says Dorsey. "We hope to get a diverse range of structures from teams around Abilene."

Profits from the event will be donated to Project Merge, a local home renovation project led by ACU's Department of Interior Design. "I am excited to spread the word about Project Merge and our plans for the project next semester," says Hudson. "In the spring, we want to create a safer and more beautiful living environment for an Abilene family in need, and the profits from this event will help us do that."
