A verdict has been reached in the sexual assault trial involving an elderly woman.

Taylor Dering, who plead guilty to the crime, has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for the sexual assault of an elderly woman after Dering knocked on her door, claiming to have a question about a truck belonging to her late husband.

The victim gave her testimony on Tuesday, saying that Dering then forced his way into her home where she tried to fight him off, but could not.

Dering's DNA was found in the home, as well as on the victim's body.

Police were able to track Dering after the attack due to a device he was wearing on his ankle.

Dering was already on probation for the sexual assault of a child in East Texas.
