Reminder: ACU 'Christmas Slam' Tuesday

By: ACU Press Release
Updated: December 4, 2012
Both ACU's men's and women's basketball teams will take on Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday, December 4 and, starting at 5:30 p.m., ACU invites the public to participate in "Christmas Slam."

There will be a Christmas party in the Moody Coliseum concourse, complete with Santa Claus, Team Big Air (an NBA halftime acrobatic group) and many more fun activities.

Bring unwrapped children's undergarments/toys for ages 4-12 for Arms of Hope, or canned goods for the KRBC share your Christmas Food Drive, to receive a ticket at the discounted price of $5/person.
A few of the anticipated highlights:

Clubs and organizations from across campus will set up Christmas-themed booths on the concourse. The club with the best design will determine the charity that will receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.

Children can take photos with Santa Claus (also known as ACU Assistant Dean for Spiritual Life and Chapel Programs Mark Lewis).

The ACU Athletics Department will provide candy canes, along with other prizes to be given away throughout the games.

Pizza will be provided to the first 200 students who enter.

Audience members will be asked to remain silent until ACU scores its tenth point during the men's game, at which point the audience will cheer.

President Schubert will offer a special Christmas blessing at halftime.
