Pets may look adorable, and services as a friend when needed, but lack of research before swiping that card may cost you more than intended.
Dr. Price provided the acronym S.T.A.T.E. to go over before purchasing any pets.
S-Source of pet: Choose a proper business to look through
T-Timing: Consider waiting and realizing after the holidays whether or not you truly want a pet
A-Attitude and Activity: Find pets that will suit your everyday activities. Don't choose a golden retriever if you choose not to stay active.
T-Time needed with pet: Realize the amount of time it takes to properly take care of the pet
E-Expense: Figure out how much it takes to maintain the pets. ex: food, hospital visits, grooming etc.
Windmill Animal Hospital sees a lot of pet at this time of the year, but sometimes, it's after the season when people realize that owning a pet is not for them.
