The Eastland Mavericks moved on Friday night with a win over Bangs at Wylie Bulldog Stadium.

Eastland struck first with a 23 yard touchdown pass from Josh Moylan to Matt Majors. That gave the Mavs a 7-0 lead at that point.

The Dragons would get the ball moving on their first drive with a first down run by quarterback J.T. Newton. Unfortunately for Bangs that drive would stall, and the Mavericks would take over on downs after taking down the Dragons punter.

It would appear the Mavericks were on their way in for a touchdown, but then the Dragons defense stepped up to make a play. Eastland's Brandon Allen would be stripped of the ball, and Bangs would take over.

Eastland would eventually get the ball back and stretch their lead to 17-0. The Dragons would respond and make it a 17-14 game, but Eastland would once again take control.

With a 23-14 win over Bangs, Eastland will now take on Wall in the next round.
