ACU's Gingerbread House Competition

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: December 1, 2012

Nine teams gathered to compete against each other to create the best gingerbread house. Prizes were given for best all around, most creative, best use of materials and tallest. There was a $15 entry fee and all profits from the event benefited Project Merge. The ACU organization picks a local family whose home is in need of repairs and fixes it free of charge.

"So today's project we were building little play houses, little gingerbread houses, in order to support the building of a real house for the community," says Suzi Tracy, winner of most creative house.

Project Merge will choose the fixer-upper early next year and will complete construction over a weekend in April.
