Pay it Foward for Christmas Goodies

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: December 2, 2012

The organization encourages people through a "pay it forward" system. Anybody who volunteers locally can come in and get free Christmas goodies for their families. With only 10 hours of credited volunteer work, people are able to come and choose a large gift, grab bag items like board games, a stuffed animal and even holiday decorations, including a Christmas tree.

"They're usually surprised and shocked that there's so much here that they can get for their kids and their homes. And they're really grateful for it and they're happy," says Melody Loveland.

People can volunteer anywhere in the big country and bring proof of that to the christian service center at 901 mesquite street. And if you bring the kids along while you're shopping, Santa is there, ready to share some Christmas stories.
