Reminder: HEB Feast of Sharing Open to Community Tuesday

By: Press Release
Updated: December 4, 2012
On Tuesday, H-E-B and Meals on Wheels Plus will kick off the holiday season in Abilene with a special feast delivered to 900 home bound families.

This year Communities in Schools created handmade Christmas cards to be included as a special surprise with each meal. These deliveries coincide with the 8th Annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing tradition.

This year's Feast of Sharing dinner will take place on Tuesday, December 11 from 4 pm - 8 pm, at the Abilene Civic Center located at 1100 N. 6th Street.

The H-E-B Feast of Sharing is a FREE community event open to everyone who wants to attend. H-E-B plans to serve more than 8,000 guests this year. The day will include entertainment for the whole family.

The H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners were founded in 1989 and are a facet of H-E-B's Food Bank Assistance Program. The program works year-round to prevent hunger in Texas and Mexico. Today, 31 dinners are held across Texas and in Mexico, with more than 250,000 meals served to communities.
