Sweetwater Celebrates Christmas

Updated: May 30, 2013
It's Christmas time in Sweetwater.

The annual Christmas parade made its way down downtown along Broadway St.

The Sweetwater High school band was there to provide holiday tunes.

Many say it's been the largest turnout they've seen in years.

"With the oil industry picking up and a lot of wind construction continuing, transmission construction, the populations probably as big as its been in 50 years in terms of the actually people here and the traffic patterns and so its just a fun thing," said Sweetwater mayor Greg Wortham, "we're trying to do  a lot more things in the community to get more people involved."

There were several floats made by local groups like the Girl Scouts and local fire department.

A Santa balloon made its way as well as a giant Rudolph.

It's held by the Sweetwater chamber of commerce.
