Eastland Moves Into Top Ten in Harris Ratings

By: Eric Boynton
Updated: December 3, 2012
For the first time all season the Eastland Mavericks made their debut in the top ten of the Harris Ratings.

A big win Friday night over the Bangs Dragons helped propel the Mavs (#10) to their highest rating in Class 2A Div. II all season. This coming Friday Eastland will get a chance to move on in the playoffs and perhaps in the Harris Ratings as they take on the Wall Hawks (#5).

Few surprises in Class A this week. The Stamford Bulldogs once again keep their grip on the second spot in division one. At the same time Goldthwaite (#6) continued their rise in the ratings with a victory over Lindsay.

Munday also kept their top spot in division two after a win over Hamlin on Saturday afternoon. Their next opponent, Albany (#5), jumped a spot with a win over the previously fifth ranked Muenster Hornets.

One team that lost this past weekend did stay in the top ten in the Harris Ratings. Despite losing to Stephenville Friday night the Wylie Bulldogs (#9) stayed in the top ten, but dropped a total of six spots.
