McMurry University invites the Abilene community to enjoy Christmas music, hot chocolate and cookies, and see this year's Christmas light show on Tuesday December 4, at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Furr Welcome Center.

A reception will be held in the Furr Welcome Center immediately following the lighting ceremony.

The lighting event will be joined this year by a special one-hour free holiday concert by the McMurry University Band beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Radford Auditorium. The concert will feature the McMurry Wind Ensemble, conducted by David Robinson with guest conductor David Wallis, and the McMurry Jazz Band, conducted by Mark Wilcox.

Performances will include Christmas Music for Winds by John Cacavas and Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, Second Suite for Military Band by Gustav Holst, Procession of Nobles by Rimski-Korsakov, and Salvation is Created by Pavel Tschesnokoff.

A coordinated audio-visual Christmas Light Show will be shown in front of the Furr Welcome Center continuously from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night through New Year's Day.

Visitors may tune in to a special FM frequency to hear the musical presentation without having to leave their vehicles. Come join with the McMurry family in celebrating the holiday season.
