7 Cowboys Named To D3football.com All-South Region Team

MINNEAPOLIS  - Hardin-Simmons' had seven players named to the 2012 D3football.com all-South region team as chosen by a select panel around the region.
 
Senior center Travis Sugar and senior defensive tackle Undra Hendrix were both named to the first team.
 
Sugar led an offensive unit that finished first in the nation in passing offense, third in total offense and fourth in scoring. Hendrix set an HSU record for sacks by a defensive tackle with 11 and had 19 tackles for loss, both which led the ASC.
 
Senior quarterback Logan Turner and junior punter Brandon Abbott were named to the second.
 
Abbott ranked second in the nation in punting with a 42.38 average per kick. Turner set HSU records by throwing for 4116 yards and 43 touchdowns.
 
Senior offensive tackles Brandon Mikolajczyk, freshman kick returner Jessie Ramos and junior safety Jonathan Petty were named to the third team.
 
The Cowboys went 6-4 on the year and finished third in the American Southwest Conference with a 5-2 record.
