Doctors aren't exactly sure what causes morning sickness, but it may be linked to increased levels of hormones that women produce when they are expecting.
There are steps women can take to help relieve morning sickness:
- Snack often, eating 5 or 6 small meals a day instead of the usual 3
- Eat a few crackers before you get out of bed in the morning.
- Avoid spicy, fatty foods
- Try drinks or food containing ginger
- Avoid smells that bother you
- Get plenty of fresh air
