Man Attempts to Rob Carhop at Gunpoint, Police Searching for Suspect

A man attempted to rob a Sonic carhop at gunpoint Thursday afternoon in Abilene, and now police are looking for the attempted robber.
It happened around 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Sonic restaurant on Sayles Boulevard.
A man waiting in his car showed a gun to a car hop and demanded she give him money.
The car hop refused and ran inside as the suspect fled the scene.
Witnesses were not able to get a license plate number as the suspect vehicle had the plates removed before the crime.
