By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: December 10, 2012
The decision to expand an AISD Elementary school is on the school board agenda Monday evening.

The meeting will determine the approval of bids to expand Bonham Elementary school.

The expansion will mean a new eight-classroom wing that willl be funded with money from the 2004 bonds costing around $1.3 million.

Though on a short timeline, the project is expected to be completed by the next school year, and the board has planned each of these projects to ensure more expansion in the future.

"They have master planned each of these projects to ensure that if and when we expand, whether it's finsihing out and replacing the rest of Bowie, or doing the same with Bonham, we'll be in good stead to pursue those efforts," says AISD Superintendant Dr. Heath Burns.

Dr. Davidson is also expected to submit his resignation to board this evening.

Also on the agenda, the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school calendars will be approved and will be available online.
