Presents Found on Roadway, APD Looking for Owners

By: APD Press Release
Updated: December 10, 2012
This Sunday morning at about 5:35 a.m., Officer Michael Janusz was driving to work when he came across what appeared to be some presents on the roadway on South 20 Street.

Upon closer inspection, Officer Janusz observed that these presents were still gift-wrapped and that they appeared to be Christmas gifts.

In all, 10 gifts were located.

He also observed that at least one of the intended recipients of these gifts was named Jarmiah, as indicated on one of the wrapped presents.

No crime report was submitted in connection with this incident. Officer Janusz and the Abilene Police Department (APD) are hopeful that we can locate the rightful owner of these gifts.

APD will be monitoring any related incident reports, but as of right now, APD has not determined whether a crime has occurred.

We are seeking the public's help in identifying any parents who have children named Jarmiah and are missing gifts.

If you have any information that would be helpful and lead to the return of these gifts to their rightful owner, please contact our Property and Evidence Unit at: 325-437-4510.

If you have any information about this circumstance and believe it involves criminal activity, you can contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 325-676-6610, or you can provide information anonymously by calling Abilene Crime Stoppers at 325-676-TIPS.
