Citizens of Breckenridge and Albany are being warned of a possible telephone scam.

Sharon Pendleton with First National Bank Albany/Breckenridge said a long-time customer called to report a scam attempted against her.

According to the woman, a "medical group" out of Atlanta, Ga. called to get her bank account information, telling her that her Medicare card would not be good if she did not give them the information.

She reports that a "supervisor" even spoke to her asking for the information, explaining that it had to do with a change in Medicare benefits.

The same  "supervisor" told her that she was going to get new Medicare cards but they needed her bank account number.

The lady said that a couple of her friends were also aware of this scam.
