The Stamford Bulldogs are now one game away from going back to Cowboys Stadium for the second straight season.

Often overlooked in the final box score, because of their high scoring offense, is their defense; which is one reason their having so much success this year.

"Our offense does get a lot of recognition. We do put a lot of points on the board. We are very explosive, and I think this year our defense is getting overlooked. I feel our defense is much improved. Much better than we were last year. I feel like our unit has stepped up and made plays when they've had too," said head coach Wayne Hutchinson.

"I strongly believe in our defense. I think it's one of the best defenses in the state, for [Class A].  We've got a lot of speed, and really rally to the ball. Pretty much just get off blocks and do what we've got to do. I mean you can hit us, and we'll just get back up," said Daniel Medina

:"Do what coach has asked us to do. It's worked to this point. So, we need to do what we need to [do] to hopefully win more," said Keontay Smith "We all need to elevate our game, and try to play with a higher intensity. So, we can get to where we wan to go, and that's Cowboys Stadium."

The one obstacle remaining in Stamford's path back to Cowboys stadium is the Italy Gladiators. Don't let their record fool you though. Since starting the season 1-4, Italy has peeled of eight straight wins.

They also feature a talented back, Rykheem Walker?, and stopping him will be a big key for the Bulldogs defense this Friday night in Wichita Falls.

Stamford plays Italy in Mineral Wells on Friday, not Wichita Falls.
