Brownwood Police responded to an apartment complex Tuesday night after the report of a possible stabbing.

Around 10 p.m., officers of the Brownwood Police Department responded to 501 Main St, Driftwood Apartments, after receiving a call of a disturbance; possible stabbing.

According to Assistant Chief James Fuller, officers identified two female victims (age 30 and 50) in an apartment who received stab wounds. While interviewing the victims, officers were told that the disturbance originated over a loud music complaint. One of the victims approached another apartment to complain of the loud music and, shortly afterwards, a fight ensued.

Officers learned the identity of the suspect and were able to meet with her. 37-year-old Shanetha Brooks was later taken into custody for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. While speaking with Brooks, a 34-year-old male approached officers and was determined to also be a victim in the assault. This male victim was stabbed while attempting to break up the fight, Fuller said in a press release.

All injuries received were considered non-life threatening. The three victims were taken by Guardian Ambulance Service to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.
