D.C. Sikes serves as Stephens County precinct two commissioner. Having grown up in Stephens county, he is the commissioner who brought up the idea of tabling sheriff-elect Billy Wade's bond and oath. The bond and oath are usually a routine order of business by county commissioners. But, the court unanimously decided to hold off on Wade's oath, after he was involved in an altercation with a Breckenridge police officer last month.

Sikes says he hates to see the county he grew up on divided, but he says that is exactly what has happened after Wade was drinking and causing a disturbance at the golf course last month. A disturbance that led a female Breckenridge police officer to call for help. Taser darts were also found at the scene, but we have not confirmed if they were used on Wade.

An investigation by the Texas Rangers is currently underway, which is why commissioners decided to wait to vote on Wade's bond and oath.

If charges are not filed on Wade by the next meeting on December 26, the court will have no choice but to allow Wade to take office.

Wade has since resigned from the Breckenridge Police department.

if Wade had any type og mrales or personal ethics he would just quietly fade from the scene and try to maintain sometype of dignity. If he becomes sherrif every move made by the sherrif, county attorny, and district judge will be scrutinized and question. Ktab please stay on this case, we need you.
